YKB ON THE TUBE

Yves Klein Blue have scored the sync deal for the latest Mitsubishi ad. Their single 'Polka' which we produced and recorded has been chosen for the latest campaign and is receiving heavy air time. This should open up some more avenues for the lads and expose them to a much larger audience. We wish them the best! 

INTERNATIONAL WINNERS

A big congratulations to The Brave for winning not only Best Rock Song, but Best Overall in the 100% Music International Songwriting Competition! Finalists were from far ranging places such as Canada, France, UK, USA and Iceland. Their wining song, 'Gravity & Grace' is off their debut EP, produced by Caleb James. This is a fantastic achievement for this gifted group of musicians.

SGV ON ROTATION

Skipping Girl Vinegar's latest single 'Sift The Noise' has just been added to high rotation on Triple J. Both singles released so far have achieved this level of radio play and we hope there is more to come for this fantastic band. If you haven't heard the record, check it out. 

SGV SIGN TO MGM

Congratulations to the Skipping Girl Vinegar guys for signing a record deal with MGM. The album 'Sift The Noise' has just been released and is picking up rave reviews everywhere. The first two singles have been added to Triple J playlists and the video clips have been on steady rotation. We spent many long days with the band whittling away at this stellar record and it is great to see them achieve this latest success.

We have nearly completed pre-production with the band for their debut album through Dew Process. The material is as strong as ever and there are some new directions appearing that will only enhance their reputation as a great song-writing band. Demos should be wrapped up by the end of September with recording slated for November.

Q SONG CONGRATS

Two artist we have produced in the last year have been selected as finalists in the Q Song Awards for 2008. A big congratulations to The Brave and Andrew Kennedy for this fantastic achievement. The Brave have made the final four in the Pop category while Andrew Kennedy is in the final group for best Alternative song. Good luck boys!

MAX JUDO KICK OFF

We have just completed nearly two weeks of tracking for the new Max Judo album at Byron Bay Studios 301. We got some awesome sounds and great performances down to tape and we kick the remainder of the the tracking tomorrow at The Palace. Besides tracking the record, we managed to maintain our dominance of the table tennis room... The album should be finished late July.

Apra is promoting a great little music doco that is focussing on the challenges facing musicians in the Australian music scene. It feautres interviews with Silverchair, Powderfinger, Gyroscope, Jimmy Barnes, The Veronicas, Grinspoon and many more. The soundtrack is by great Sydney band 'The Dawn Collective' which we had the pleasure of producing a little while ago. One of the tracks we worked on, Affirmation, is featured heavily in this great documentary. check it out.
